Japan Pt. 1

living in japan
for ten days is a lot like

falling back to sleep,

tokyo bums!

with one smile

may my heart always be open to little

birds who are the secrets of living

whatever they sing is better than to know

There is an ancient tale of the Dreamtime, when all creatures were coming into being and the Earth was filled with shape-shifting spirits and many changes.  There was one tree that came into being and thought itself the most beautiful tree of all.  It spent all its time gloating about its beauty, bragging to the creatures that passed.  Well, the other creatures of the land didn't appreciate this and one day they all gathered together and grabbed the tree by its trunk and flipped it upside-down and since that day this tree grows its roots towards the sky:
